Outriggers

Bribie Island Yacht Club is delighted to announce that both their Bribie Island Paddler Club and Island Outrigger Canoe Club have been amalgamated as one club. A significant majority of outrigger paddlers voted in favour of this merge. It is expected the amalgamation will get rid of all the confusion that previously existed.

A majority of outrigger paddlers voted the new name for the merged club is Bribie Island Mahalo Outrigger Canoe Club (B.I.M.O.C.C.) and this has now been registered as a business name.

Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA), have been informed of all these developments and we are awaiting affirmation of the decisions made.

Bribie Island Mahalo Outrigger Canoe Club (B.I.M.O.C.C.) as a division of BIYC and as an expected on- going affiliation with AOCRA, provides outrigger canoeing for pleasure, recreation and competition as desired by each paddler.

The word MAHOLO, a Hawaiian word was chosen by the paddlers because of its lovely meanings of gratitude, praise and respect.

Register your interest on the contact page and a representative will contact with further details.  To find out what the Paddlers are doing check out the club calendar.
