Classic Boats 2015

With perfect weather forecast and around 25 visiting boats the weekend heralds two glorious days on the waters of the beautiful Pumicestone Passage. Best vantage spots for spectators will be  on Saturday 9th May at Toorbul between midday and 2pm, from 3.30 -5pm  at Pacific Harbour Marina, from 930am Sunday 10th May the spectacular Canal parade into Dux creek Pacific Harbour.
All boats arrive at Sylvan Beach from midday until the grand parade at 2pm. There is a Vintage Car display also at Sylvan Beach.
Afternoon teas and lunch available courtesy of Bribie Vietnam Vets and Toorbul Rural Fire Brigade.

It’s coming !

The 17th Bribie Island Classic Boat Regatta on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of May 2015.

For Steam, Sail, Motor & Row Boats  (Built to Traditional Designs)

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to see classic style boats, bay cruisers, sailing dinghies and timber boats. They present a rare spectacle on Bribie’s waterways. Entry is open to all old and new classic and timber boat owners. Come along for a great day, “Just messing about in boats.”

Classic Cars and Trucks will also be on display at Sylvan Beach near Volunteer Marine Rescue Base on Sunday 10th

Friday’s Activities (8th – May)

6:00 – 9:00 pm: Meet and greet at the Bribie Island Hotel. Marina berths will be available for participants (Fri-Sun).

Saturday’s Activities (9th – May)

Boats will depart Spinnaker Sound Marina, Sandstone Point, at 10.00 am for a cruise to Toorbul and Donnybrook. Lunch will be on the beach at Toorbul. Sausage Sizzle and Fire Brigade Exhibit available at Toorbul. Boats will depart at 2.00pm and travel to Pacific Harbour Marina. Boats will be on display to the public from 3.30pm till 5.30pm at Pacific Harbour Marina.  Afternoon tea and overnight moorings will be provided for all participants.

Sunday’s Activities (10th May)

Boats will depart Spinnaker Sound about 10.00am and will then cruise into the Pumicestone Passage and Pacific Harbor Canal, Bribie Island.

At about 11.30am, the vessels will be nosed onto Sylvan Beach. Public inspection of boats and a series of sailing races and events off Sylvan Beach will take place. Vintage and Classic Car clubs will also have displays at Sylvan Beach. The day will finish with a grand parade at 2.00 pm off Sylvan Beach.

Best viewing times for the public are:

  • 9.00 – 10.00 am Saturday at the boat ramp at Spinnaker Sound Marina.
  • 12.00 – 2.00 pm Saturday Toorbul boat ramp.
  • 3.30 – 5.30 pm Saturday at Pacific Harbour Marina.
  • 11.00 am to 2.00 pm Sunday on Sylvan Beach for Boats and Cars.
